Luanne Gross, Acrylics and Collage
As a retired elementary art teacher, my artistic interests are many and varied. As I explored a wide variety of art with my students, I became equally interested in variety with my own work.
I have always loved bold, bright color, which is evidenced in almost all of my pieces. Color has a profound influence on emotions and is a “bedrock” of art.
Most recently, I have focused on “floral portraits” in intense color and on collage work incorporating acrylic paint, rolled strips of magazine pages and pieces from nature. I enjoy the beauty and texture that comes from natural elements and also the act of recycling what might otherwise be thrown away.
It is my hope to inspire joy in the viewer whatever my medium.
